Amsterdam

On the way home from Africa we stopped in Amsterdam for an overnight. It is a super beautiful city. We wished we had more time there.

The cheese....oh, the cheese...

My Birthday in Malindi, Kenya

Malindi is such a nice place to be. I was lucky to spend my 33rd birthday there. Drew and I did a little photo project. He took a picture of me on the hour every hour of the day so that I could share my b-day with everybody at home. It was a very special day that I will never forget!

9AM (at the resort pool)

10AM (at the resort)

11AM (a pier on the Indian Ocean)

12PM (curio shop)

1PM (at an internet cafe with a Masai guy)
2PM (in the city)

3PM (in a tuk tuk)

4PM (hanging at the beach)

5PM (on a pretty scary boat with a Canadian flag and no life jackets)

6PM (happy to be alive after the boat ride)

7PM (happy hour time!)

8PM (Drew told the owners of the resort that it was my birthday and they decorated our zebra bed. So awesome!)

9PM (the power went out briefly)
10PM (having the greatest dinner I've ever had)
11PM (birthday cake!!)

Mombasa, Kenya

We took an eight hour bus to Mombasa, the second largest city in Kenya. It is on the coast of the Indian Ocean. We enjoyed Fort Jesus, a Muslim BBQ party, riding in the tuk tuks, the Casablanca Club, sitting by the ocean, a little shopping, and soaking up the culture.

Nairobi

I didn't know what to except from Nairobi having never been to an African city. It was such an experience.

The country side is super beautiful.

Safari at the Masai Mara

The Masai Mara National Reserve is the northern part of the Serengeti. It was one of the most wonderful, mysterious, peaceful, dangerous, natural, inspiring places I've ever seen.
