Canada Trip

We took a trip up about 3 hours past the Canadian border in Ontario to do some fishing and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.

This is pretty much the whole town right here (note that these two stores are closed)

Sunsets are always better near a lake or ocean. I love feeling the breeze and the smell of the air coming from the lakes in Minnesota.....and in Canada...

Our cabin:

There were pelicans all over the place. It was great to watch the birds interact out on the lakes. The gulls hang out near the boat to pick up any little fish you might catch, until they see an eagle coming anyway. The loons we saw were hanging out in big groups on the water and we could hear them calling out to each other all the time.
A golden eagle:

The best sunset was on the last night we were there. Canada, you're so awesome!

Big Trout Lake

Yes, more cabin please! It was my Mom's reserved time up at Big Trout Lake, so I went up for most of the week. It was a wonderful trip! Justin (Marie's beau) got the old fishing boat running so we all went out cruising. We also went swimming, miniature golfing, kayaking, etc. We played games and had fires in the evenings, stared at the stars, and we even went to the old Brothers Lodge (now Big Trout Tavern) for some live entertainment. Good memories were made. I know this travel blog is turning into a cabin blog, but I just can't get enough!

Aww...here's Arianna and Jake. Aren't they just adorable!?!
...and they get along so well....at least for photos! ;)

Arianna took this one of me and Jake:

Arianna and Grandma: (Grandma was helping Arianna get a sunny off her fishing line)

We saw some amazing sunsets.

Reading the kids a story:

Jake took this one of me (we've got a couple future photographers on our hands!)

Then I took this one of Jake:
