Saint Patty's Day!

We decided to check out the St. Patty's Day Parade in St. Paul and it was so much fun! What an event! I'm planning to add attending this parade to my yearly tradition when celebrating the luck of the Irish.

Adventures at the cabin

After getting our car stuck in a snowbank and cleaning up after a grouse that flew through the window, we had a very relaxing time at the cabin. ;) It started a little too eventful, but we were very happy to be up there. Going up during the winter is the greatest. It's super peaceful and quiet, and there is plenty of wildlife to observe.

I know it's not exciting, but I gotta take this shot every time we go up. :)

Day 2:

I have a picture just like this one but Drew is walking into the ocean instead of on a frozen lake. ;)

We wrote D+S in the snow because.... well, because we're super dorky.

kitty liked to watch the animals from inside but she didn't seem to want to go play with them.
7 deer!
had to take some night shots.

Moving Right Along

After leaving the vast beauty of the Grand Canyon, we stayed in my new favorite little town in Arizona, Williams. I had learned of it when I was in the area with my Dad and Aunt last April, and I thought it would be a nice place to rest before heading to Vegas. It's an old route 66 town and it has a really homey, small town feel. The occupants and business owners of Williams dress up the main road with hotels, route 66 burger joints and old west decor. It felt good to be there. We took our time driving to Vegas by taking the route 66 scenic drive whenever we had the option instead of staying on the main highway. We arrived in Vegas as the sun was going down and did all the things that one should do in that crazy town. This was my last jaunt from Phoenix and it was back to Minnesota for me when it was through.
