Cheyanne, Wy and Fort Collins, CO

We stayed one night in Cheyanne, WY and visiting the capital in the morning.

This capital building is a pretty small one. It has wood where many state capitals have marble. I found it to be charming and welcoming.

Judged!

Yep. Wyoming!

We met up with a couple friends in Fort Collins and toured the New Belgium Brewery. It was awesome!

At the end, there is a slide!!

We also got to meet up with my awesome cousin and his sweet family! We wished we could have spent more time with them. We will have to go back.

The day ended with an amazing chocolate dessert. Yummers!

Devil's Tower and other amazing places

Devil's Tower
An unusual natural creation

They think it was created by a volcano when the Earth's surface was much higher than it is now. Weird!

If you look close, you can see climbers. I did not envy them.
Where the buffalo roam...

Wind Cave National Park
This is the only natural entrance to Wind Cave. Long ago, they knew it was a cave because it blows air in and out. It blew a fellas hat clean off. They said I could fit through the hole, but I would not be one to attempt that!

This is the box work inside the cave. It was so intricate and it covered the walls of the cave. I can see how people get obsessed with exploring this place.

Along our journey, we stopped to see the evidence of the journey of so many others.

South Dakota

We were pretty impressed with how beautiful South Dakota is. The Badlands are amazing and the western side of the state has so much to offer. We stayed in Rapid City and had a really great day exploring the area.

Crazy horse in the distance:

Coming up on Deadwood:

This is Saloon 10 where Wild Bill met his end. It was worth checking out. They spread sawdust on the floor for an old time effect. The photographs on the walls made the place seem like an old west museum. During the summer months, this place is crawling with tourists, but we had it practically to ourselves.

Road trip 2012

Drew and I spent spring break driving and seeking adventure in South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska. Adventure we found! It was a blast!!!

Driving through South Dakota:

The Corn Palace!

Prairie Dog food is only 50 cents! That's a deal...

...until we found out they might have a touch of the plague!

The Badlands National Park is awesome!!

A very unique place to visit.
We went on a little hike here.
A rattlesnake almost bit me! Woah! I was certainly rattled!!! ;)
They mean it, guys!

Big Horn Sheep grazing. Beautiful animals.

A Wall Drug stop was a must.
I'm not sure that I believe you.
So very presidential.
