We took a little day trip to Duluth just for fun. It's only a couple hours away and it's a nice place to spend the day walking (or in our case, driving), shopping, going to museums, eating, watching the lift bridge go up and down, etc.

The beach was beautiful and deserted....a little chilly, but still worth the visit.
Night comes fast in the winter...
