Back to Auckland; living on a boat

After our road trip to Christchurch, we sold our car (yay!) and flew to Auckland. We expected to spend a couple of days in Auckland not doing too much, just sort of waiting to go to Fiji. But, we ended up staying on a boat, meeting some great people and having so much fun. Katie found Dave on www.couchsurfers.com and he let us stay with him for 2 nights. Couch Surfers is a website where people open their homes to travelers, giving travelers a place to stay and a chance to get to know local people. Dave lives on a 40 ft. catamaran and seems to have quite the life. We got to know him and his family and friends at the boat club. They were so much fun and so welcoming, we didn't want to leave.






Sara took us to the Auckland Zoo one of the days we stayed on the boat. It was a beautiful day and a really nice zoo.
