Hiroshima

We took a train and spent the day in Hiroshima. It was a beautiful, thriving city with a powerful history and message.

This is the dome where the Atomic Bomb hit. Somehow it didn't completely collapse and it is a symbol of the tragedy that took place here.
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is dedicated to peace and the abolition of the the Atomic Bomb.
There was a memorial for Sadoko Sasaki, a young girl that developed leukemia because of the a-bomb. She was 2 years old when the bomb hit and got sick and died when she was 12. There is a Japanese legend that if you make 1,000 cranes you are granted a wish. Sadoko started to make these cranes, but did not make it to 1,000. Her classmates finished the cranes for her and now children from all over the world make cranes in her honor and send them to Hiroshima.

Bell of Peace

A memorial to Korean people that were killed in Hiroshima:

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum:

War is terrible.

This is what is left of a child's tricycle. There were many horrible stories of families split up and killed. It was so sad.
This picture is an example of a person that had the design in their clothing burned onto their skin.
A flame continues until Atomic Bombs are no longer researched or available. Peace is the answer.
