Kyoto, Japan (Kansai Region)

Kyoto is known as the place to go to see temples. It has 1,600 Buddhist Temples and 400 Shinto Shrines, not to mention all the museums and palaces. When exiting the train station, all we did is wonder off away from the station and saw a half a dozen of them. They are everywhere and so wonderful! We decided to get off the beaten path a little in Kyoto and took a small train to Sagano. It was like going back in time! Sagano was a dream... a peaceful dream full of temples, rolling hills, bamboo forests, rickshaws on empty country roads, cherry blossoms, and a spiritual feel. Sigh. It was beautiful.
